• Can dentists write Dr?

  Yes, dentists in India who have earned a Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) or Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree are legally allowed to use the title of “Doctor” or “Dr.” before their name.

• What is DDS after BDS?

  Dentistry in the USA is a 4-5 year long program available as a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) or Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD). DDS and DMD have similar curriculums and are equivalent to a Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) degree in India.

• Is dentist equal to MBBS?

  MBBS and BDS are equal in terms of the level of difficulty. MBBS is a common abbreviation for Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery. While BDS is Bachelor of Dental surgery. BDS deals with dental and oral sciences, which means a graduate will be a Dentist doctor.
