I have retired from defence services after serving for 20 years. Though we lead a tough life and get to experience things that are not possible in civilian life. When we retire things change completely. We have to start from scratch. I was aware of the concept of Six Sigma as we used to follow that in our day to day proceedings to increase efficiency and reduce errors but I did not have a certificate.

After my retirement, I joined a corporate organisation in the capacity of administration manager. My role is to look after the smooth running of the organisation. I intend to move up the ladder soon so I thought of doing some certifications. The idea of doing a Lean Six Sigma certification interested me and when I saw that Henry Harvin was offering a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification with RPA training course I immediately caught hold of it. Since the course was online it was not a problem to commit to the course. It needed a total of 60 hours of live online training which was divided into Six Sigma course and RPA course. We had a batch of people from varied backgrounds.

My course mates treated me with a lot of respect as I was an ex-defense person. Both the courses aim at reducing errors and increasing productivity so it made perfect sense to club the certifications. We were taught the potential uses and benefits of robotic process automation. Apart from various phases and models of Six Sigma, we were taught about various managerial and analytical tools. It is hard to find such a course that encapsulates so many trending concepts into one course.

Not only that we were two complementary models of soft skills development and resume writing. Spending my entire professional life in defense services, I could use those extra modules. I recommend this course to all retired defense personnel like me who are stepping into the corporate world.
