It quietly powers everything that we enjoy on our mobile devices. Huge amounts of data are transferred effortlessly in the blink of an eye via mobile devices.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Any individual using a mobile phone may not be aware of all the complex processes that take place within their mobile. Keeping the end user comfortable and free from all the technical hassles is what makes MCC remarkable<\/span>. The evolution from Mainframes to MCC highlights the technical advancements over the past years. The introduction of the internet and mobile led to digitisation and advanced technologies such as 5G, cloud computing, and MCC.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is Mobile Cloud Computing\u200b (MCC)?<\/b><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

MCC is a technology in which your mobile device (smartphone or tablet) uses cloud servers to perform tasks rather than doing everything on the device itself. MCC is essentially an extension of cloud computing, bringing cloud services to mobile devices.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n

 What is The Need For MCC?<\/b> <\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

If you play games or watch videos for long hours, your phone gets heated up, and the battery drains. Similarly, if the mobile stores all the data, photos, and applications, you need a laptop-sized memory and a table fan to cool the smartphone.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

To allow the user to access all the features while maintaining the size and functionality of a smartphone, we need to store the data in a remote server and use it for complex solutions, data storage, and high-functionality tasks. The data is available to the user whenever they want to access it through MCC.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Real-time Example of MCC:
<\/b>Imagine using Google Maps. When you search for a route from your home to your office, the remote cloud servers receive the request. Google servers process large volumes of data, such as traffic conditions, road closures, distances, and fastest routes. Within nanoseconds, Google Maps gives you directions. Google Cloud servers store all Google apps-related data.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The architecture of MCC describes how mobile devices and cloud remote servers work together to deliver services. It consists of three main components:  Device Layer, Communication Networks, and Cloud Infrastructure. <\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In between, there are intermediate components such as the cloudlet layer, middleware layer, load balancer, synchroniser, and security layer. Each component performs functions that enable efficient communication and data processing among the 3 main components.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The intermediate layers help in smooth data transmission and improve speed, performance and reliability. They reduce delay by processing simple tasks rather than transmitting everything to the clouds.<\/span><\/p>\n\n\n
